What did you say, Meijer? A six-pack of “Large” pie tins? Sounds excellent, seeing as I have a terrible sense of size and have no idea that you actually meant “Child’s Medium” pie tins.
Well, guess what? I don’t need you and your size conventions trying to tell me what a pie is supposed to be. I’m an adult! (Kind of.) I make my own rules and my own pie crusts, and the only limitation I’m willing to face is weight—if a pie is too heavy for me to load it into the oven, then it’s too big. Until then, I will see your tiny diameter and raise you… height. Word up to all my tall desserts out there!
(I’m sure you’ll notice there’s no recipe accompanying this post. That’s because I temporarily reverted to my old ways and eyeballed all my measurements. It’s an apple-brown sugar-pecan pie. If anyone wants an inkling as to how I made it, let me know and I’ll try to recreate after exams are over.)
At the end of the day, I suppose I’m thankful to you for selling me these tiny, tiny pie tins. Because now instead of a wimpy-looking regular pie….
