Two Months In

Guys, I made it! I made it 8 whole weeks without being so embarrassed of the crap I’ve been eating that I gave up. In fact, I’ve even tried some new things, knowing failure was a possibility. So yay for the Internet!

Sunday: Worse than usual

So after working out, I was too lazy to make dinner. And not hungry, from all the muscle-destroying. The b/f had takeout, and I had leftover cornbread. It was delicious cornbread, with queso fresco on top! But I forgot to take a picture. I hope you can forgive me!

Monday: Yellow LOs

I know you just saw a picture of this, but seeing it again is almost as good as eating it again.

Week 7

Well here we are, a project I have actually maintained. And NOT because I’m using it to procrastinate from doing other important things like school assignments or work assignments. Nope, definitely not that.

Anyway, it’s a nice break in the week when I sit down and think about food for an hour, so I’m glad I have a platform to do it that includes photos! And audience members! (Thanks, Dad.)

Sunday: Leftovers!

Just as good the second time around. My arteries are feeling the bacon, though.

Tonight was leftover night because I spent eight hours today trying to write/revise a research paper for lab. Writing is hard, guys. Every time I read papers now I think about what PITA it must have been for everyone to get together and make it happen. Unless the paper includes bad grammar. In which case fury replaces what could have been sympathy. Oh, well.

Notes: No really, I am for real going to post this recipe soon. As in, soon. I hope.

Week 6

Wow, trying to be a good student AND the most productive member of a 3-person tissue-engineering lab is… yeah. I’m exhausted. In fact, I’m probably sleep-typing this right now. Is having that ability a strength or a weakness?

Sunday: Sorry to disappoint.

I know you were hoping for another picture of Sunday chili. In fact, I DID eat chili Sunday night (the Superbowl without chili is just the Averagebowl, especially when I didn’t care that much who won), but I didn’t take a picture of it. You would’ve liked it. It was white chicken chili, which I’d never had before. Kind of like soup, but with chili flavors. Anyway, this is what I made for that party:

If you don't expect everything I eat to be covered in hot sauce (Sriracha, in this case), then you clearly don't live with me.

But that’s not all I ate…

Week 5

Alright, so this week it seems as though I could have done more to contribute to the health of those around me. Well GUESS WHAT? It’s even worse than it seems.

That’s right. This Saturday I spent the entire day… making desserts to fatten up my friends. (See below.) To be fair, most of my friends are in better shape than I am. That’s not just because I’m lazy. They just generally eat well and exercise a lot. Which makes me feel like a loser. So I feed them desserts! I know it sounds counterintuitive, but everyone wins. Anyway, on to the foods I ate for dinner!

Sunday: SURPRISE!

What? I can't stay away. IT'S CHILI, GUYS!

What? I can’t stay away. IT’S CHILI, GUYS!

I know, chili on a Sunday again. It was so good. Once again, made by my friend Eric, and featuring a counter stocked with vegetables prepared by… my other friend Eric!

I stayed away from the tomatoes because tomatoes are gross. Everything else was delicious though!
